Skill: Salesforce Development (no admin)/ APEX/ Lightning  

Qualifications: Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred. Advanced planning/organization, problem-solving, analytical, time management, decision-making, and communication skills required, as well as solid leadership and basic presentation skills. Must be able to effectively communicate technical plans, strategies, and designs to all levels of the company. Basic knowledge of business unit applications is preferred. Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Proven Salesforce developer skills are required. Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed, and/or web programming languages is preferred. Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience plus 6 - 10 years of experience in IT field required. Proven experience as a senior IT professional. Candidates with Salesforce Developer and/or Architect Certifications would be preferred including Platform App Builder, Platform Developer 1, and Platform Developer 2. These same requirements may also apply to other positions across the organization  Responsibilities:  Creating Salesforce applications and solutions that mesh with our architectural guidelines and best-practices. Work within an Agile team as a scrum team member. You will partner with other team members to help deliver innovative solutions to our business users through requirements gathering, technical design, development, and quality assurance. Provide Salesforce application expertise and representation to internal business partners and peers. The candidate will be expected to have strong knowledge of developing solutions on the Lightning Platform including being able to effectively create custom lightning components and integrate with external systems. Emphasis of Service Cloud with basic knowledge of Sales Cloud.  Comments/Special Instructions  We are only hiring Salesforce Developers - no admin. Project will be for Salesforce implementation of our member call center.    Why is this position open?  We are working on an accelerated effort to migrate our existing participant call center from a legacy platform to Salesforce.  Looking for two additional experienced Salesforce Developers to help with the implementation development work and the roll-out planned by the end of the year.  We separated this req from the one submitted in late March to give the team time to onboard the new resources and gather additional business/technical requirements. How is it impacting the business?  The business is eager to move away the legacy call center platform onto Salesforce and plans to realize large productivity, efficiency, and overall customer-service satisfaction gains by connecting the call center with other Salesforce implementations completed in the past for other our sales and service audiences. What is the scope of the project? Could you please provide 3 - 4 sentences of the project work and what do day to day responsibilities look like?  The individuals will be working on a small scrum team to help define, design, implement and test features identified for the initial rollout.  Many of the features are adaptations of functionality provided in their current legacy systems.  The project work will include a small amount of configuration to support new audiences and a large amount development work to provide custom solutions to match a specific business needs using Apex and Lightning Components. What technologies or systems will this contractor be utilizing?  The individuals will be using Salesforce base functionality, extended functionality, and custom functionality including integrating with external systems using Apex programming language and custom lightning components.   Must Haves 1. Proven experience as a Salesforce Developer evidenced by articulating solutions built to solve specific business needs. 2. Ability to communicate and work effectively with other team members. 3. Ability to analyze less than fully defined requirements, work with the team to refine specific technical requirements, and present and implement technical solutions.   Desired 1. Experience with a call center implantation on the Salesforce Platform. 2. Salesforce certified as a Platform Developer 1 and Platform Developer 2.   Could you breakdown the responsibility composition for this role in terms of percentages? (Front-end..Middleware..Back-end..New development 10%..Maintenance 10%.... reporting 20% etc…)   100% new design and development within Salesforce until rollout, then I expect a portion of the responsibility to include maintenance/bug-fixing as new users begin to use the system. 6.   Size and Culture of their team? Small, but growing Agile team focused exclusively on Salesforce implementation for an existing member call center.  The team consists of one scrum-master/BA, one product owner (lead BA), one solution architect, and currently one full-time developer.  Entire team currently works in Des Moines Office.  We have well defined goals, but try to make working together an enjoyable experience.  Our team operates within the larger CRM squad consisting of three additional scrum teams focused on Salesforce. 7.    Other departments they will interact with? Our team will partner with several other teams and departments who we are dependent on for the roll-out.  We will be working with corporate teams that owns consumer level data and cross-enterprise systems that integrate with the call center.  We will also work closely with non-Salesforce teams within the department who own systems of record for the members and systems that allow member-level transactions.
